Pastor Eric wrote a funny article about his trip to Bali in the August 29th Destin Log. If you missed it, click here to read it. Also, have you checked out Michaela’s blog with details of how she and Lindsay spent their summer abroad? If you, too, want to live the dream, Shoreline Church will be taking a group on a mission trip to Bali in 2009. If you’re interested in being part of the team, call the church office at (850) 650-8658.
Tomorrow, June 17th, Shoreline will join 1,400+ churches from around the world in fasting and prayer. Give something up for the whole day to focus on praying. Food, sweets, soda, TV, MySpace; it’s your call! Then specifically pray for miracles! Details can be found at http://youtube.com/watch?v=7FBH_v77cTo
What would happen if believers from all over the globe came together to impact the world like never before? Well, we’re about to find out. Over 1,300 churches, representing over 750,000 people, are participating in this worldwide event.
Today kicked off a four-week series for ONE PRAYER, started by Pastor Craig Groeschel. If you missed it, you may either download the message off Shoreline’s web site or attend the Tuesday night service at McGuire’s.
The first message in this series was “Lord, Make Us One.” This is from John 17:20-23: “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” Pastor Eric gave three “ONEs” that unify the church: one enemy, one heart, and one purpose.
Again, if you missed it, be sure to catch up before the June 15th message.
To help cover the costs associated with the trip, a fundraiser is being held June 1st-7th at Graffiti in The Village of Baytowne Wharf. If you mention the fundraiser, the restaurant will donate 15% of your bill.
Shoreline Church’s first home church is about to become a reality over 2,800 miles away from Destin. The Coast Guard is relocating the Alley family to Astoria, Oregon. They leave tomorrow to travel across the country. While preparing to move the past few months, Justin and Jana searched for a church online. As they became frustrated at so few prospects, they began to think about bringing Shoreline with them. Several meetings and conversations with Pastor Eric later, it’s official: Shoreline will soon have a home church! Please pray for the Alley family and the people in Astoria as they set out on this new adventure.
